Mike Conaton – 2017

2017 Honoree: Mike Conaton

Mike Conaton lives by an important guiding principle: “Be a person for others, who doesn’t give in to himself.” St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati will honor his commitment to others during the third annual “A Celebration of Service” event on May 9 at Xavier University’s Cintas Center.

The location is fitting for a man with a self-proclaimed love for Xavier University. He attended Xavier on a football scholarship, was chairman of the Board of Trustees for 18 years, and even served as interim president.

Mike’s passion for serving others includes service to our country as a Lieutenant in United States Marine Corps. He joined the Midland Company in 1961, holding several roles before retiring as president and vice-chairman.

Throughout his career and into retirement, he has served as a member of many corporate and charitable boards in Cincinnati. He currently serves as a member of St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati’s advisory board.

“St. Vincent de Paul does such wonderful things,” Conaton said. “There are so many lives that need help with the basics, and I’m so proud to be associated with the organization.”
