St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati (SVDP) honored Sherie Marek and Linda Mueller during its seventh annual Celebration of Service event, held on Thursday, May 19th at The Anderson Pavilion.
Three hundred guests gathered to honor Marek and Mueller, who were instrumental to the success of SVDP’s Upward Spiral Comprehensive Campaign. The campaign drastically expanded access to programs and services through the new Don and Phyllis Neyer Outreach Center. Their generosity helped ensure services can be offered Monday-Saturday. Additionally, Shelly is well-known for hosting her annual holiday luncheon, which brings in thousands of toys every year in support of SVDP’s Christmas programs.
The event included a fundraising component to support SVDP’s Homelessness Prevention Program, which provides rent and utility assistance to families in need. Through gifts made during the fund appeal, sponsorships and pre-event donations, guests helped raise more than $550,000 in Marek and Mueller’s honor, one of the largest totals in the event’s history.
