Seasonal Programs

We’re busy helping all year

Throughout the year we offer various programs designed to meet the needs of our neighbors at that particular time. The programs include:

Spring/Summer

Fan and A/C Distribution

Program update – 7/7/22

Applications for A/C units for the 2022 summer are now closed. Fans are still available on a walkup basis at our Neyer Outreach Center while supplies last.

To qualify to receive an AC, neighbors must be 65-years-old or older or have a medical need. Applications to receive an AC unit are available online at SVDPcincinnati.org/AC. Completing an application does not guarantee receipt of an AC, as supplies are limited. There is a limit of one air conditioner per household, and households are eligible to receive an air conditioner once every five years. Program staff will review applications and contact eligible neighbors to arrange for AC pickup. A photo ID is required.

Box fans are still being distributed on a walk-up basis at our Neyer Outreach Center (1146 Bank Street) during normal operating hours. Recipients must provide a photo ID and can only receive one fan every other year. Limit of one fan per household.

Please note that households may receive either an AC or a fan, but not both.

Coat Distributions

En Español

Cincinnati winters can be anywhere from fair to frigid, so each winter we give away free coat distributions for our neighbors in need.

A photo ID for all family members receiving a coat is required.

We have concluded our winter coat distribution events for the 2021-2022 winter.

Fall

Thanksgiving Food Distribution

En Español

Thanksgiving is a holiday built around gathering family at the dinner table, giving thanks and chowing down. To help with this holiday tradition, St. Vincent de Paul gives out Thanksgiving food baskets, which include a turkey, all of the traditional side items, desserts and everything needed to create a great meal.

Any neighbor in need is eligible to participate in the Thanksgiving Food Distribution. There is no need to sign up in advance, although a photo ID is required on the day of the distribution, and neighbors will be asked to complete a TEFAP form to receive food.

The 2021 Thanksgiving Food Distribution will take place on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 9am at the Neyer Outreach Center (1146 Bank Street). The distribution will continue until supply is exhausted.

Christmas Gift Programs

St. Vincent de Paul offers several Christmas gift programs for families in need. Families are invited to apply for these programs. Applying does not guarantee a spot in one of our programs, and participants are chosen based on their application, not on a first-come, first-served basis. You are eligible to receive assistance every other year.

Applications have closed for Christmas 2021.

Christmas Food Distribution

Presents under the tree is often the highlight of Christmas day, but the Christmas dinner with family can’t be forgotten, and to help St. Vincent de Paul hands out everything needed for a good meal—a ham, veggies, fruit, rolls, dessert—to those in need.

Any neighbor in need is eligible to participate. The zip code limit that generally applies to our pantry is not in place for the distribution. There is no need to sign up in advance, although a photo ID is required on the day of the distribution.

Our Christmas Food Distribution has concluded for Christmas 2021. If you are in need of assistance with food, please call 513-421-0602, or visit the Neyer Outreach Center (1146 Bank Street) to shop at our Choice Food Pantry.
