Seasonal Programs

We’re busy helping all year

Throughout the year we offer various programs designed to meet the needs of our neighbors at that particular time. The programs include:

Spring/Summer

Fan and Air Conditioner Distribution

Need help staying cool this summer?

Box fans will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at our Neyer Outreach Center starting May 3, 2021. Recipients must provide a photo ID and can only receive one fan every other year. Limit of one fan per household. Please call us at 513-562-8850 before arriving to pick up a fan.

Individuals in need of an air conditioner may apply online beginning May 3, 2021. To qualify to receive an AC, neighbors must be 65-years-old or older or have a medical need. If you need help filling out the application, please give us a call at 513-421-0602. Completing an application does not guarantee receipt of an AC, as supplies are limited. There is a limit of one air conditioner per household, and households are eligible to receive an air conditioner once every five years. Program staff will review applications and contact eligible neighbors to set up an appointment to receive the AC. A photo ID is required for pick up.

Please note that households may receive either an AC or a fan, but not both.

Fall

Thanksgiving Food Distribution

Thanksgiving is a holiday built around gathering family at the dinner table, giving thanks and chowing down. To help with this holiday tradition, St. Vincent de Paul gives out Thanksgiving food baskets, which include a turkey, all of the traditional side items, desserts and everything needed to create a great meal.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s Thanksgiving Food Distribution will be a drive-thru model held off site.

Where: Cincinnati Museum Center parking lot (1301 Western Ave. 45203)

When: Tuesday, November 24, 9am-2pm

We are asking all neighbors to wear a mask and remain in their car.

Any neighbor in need is eligible to participate in the Thanksgiving Food Distribution. There is no need to sign up in advance, although a photo ID is required on the day of the distribution.

Winter

Coat Distributions

Cincinnati winters can be anywhere from fair to frigid, so each winter we give away free coat distributions for our neighbors in need.

Due to restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not holding our traditional coat distributions this year. Instead, we are issuing vouchers for coats that can be redeemed at any of our seven Cincinnati thrift stores. Neighbors in need of a coat should contact their Conference or call our help line at 513-421-0602. Vouchers will be extended, based on availability of coats, from November 15, 2020 through January 28, 2021. All vouchers must be redeemed within 30 days of being issued.

A photo ID for all family members receiving a coat is required.

Winter

Christmas Food Distribution

Presents under the tree is often the highlight of Christmas day, but the Christmas dinner with family can’t be forgotten, and to help St. Vincent de Paul hands out everything needed for a good meal—a ham, veggies, fruit, rolls, dessert—to those in need.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s Christmas Food Distribution will be a drive-thru model.  Meals will be distributed from the Neyer Outreach Center beginning December 7, until supply runs out.

Any neighbor in need is eligible to participate. The zip code limit that generally applies to our pantry is not be in place for the distribution. There is no need to sign up in advance, although a photo ID is required on the day of the distribution.

As of 12/21/2020, all Christmas meals have already been distributed.  

Winter

Christmas Gift Programs

St. Vincent de Paul offers several Christmas gift programs for families in need. Families are invited to apply for these programs. Applying does not guarantee a spot in one of our programs, and participants are chosen based on their application, not on a first-come, first-served basis. You are eligible to receive assistance every other year.
