Winter Coat Drive

Share the Warmth

St. Vincent de Paul joins WLWT and Warm 98.5 in asking the community to donate new and gently used coats, as well as gloves, hats, and scarves. These winter items are then made available to neighbors in need this season.

Do you have a coat or winter items to donate?
Drop it off at one of the following locations:

  • Any Cincinnati St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. Click here for a list of locationslook for the blue barrels located INSIDE the stores. Have clothes or household goods to donate along with your coats? Call 513-421-CARE for a free donation pickup from your home.
  • Any Northern Kentucky St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. Click here for a list of locationslook for the blue barrels located INSIDE the stores.
  • Select Northern Kentucky fire stations and city administration buildings. Click here to see the list of locations.
  • Any local Union Savings Bank or Guardian Savings Bank.
  • Any local Sibcy Cline office – click here for the full list of locations.
  • Findlay Market:
    • Findlay Market Market Center (inside market house):
      Tuesday – Friday: 9:00AM – 6:00PM, Saturday: 8:00AM – 6:00PM, Sunday: 10:00AM – 4:00PM
    • Outside of Jane’s bar — off Elm Street in the biergarten space — any time while the market is open.

To receive a coat, join us at one of the distributions listed below. Those seeking a coat must bring a photo ID and an ID for all household members who need a coat as well (regardless if they are also present).

Coat Drive FAQs

How long is the coat drive?
Community partners and individuals are invited to donate coats for the drive from October 18, 2021, until January 29, 2022.

Does SVDP provide support materials for groups looking to host a drive?
Yes, SVDP provides the following upon request:

  • Collection barrels (each with a large, branded sticker on it stating it is a part of the drive)
  • Electronic flyer for promotional purposes – click here to view/print/save
  • Sample bulletin blurb for church newsletters – click here to view

Is our group able to schedule pick-ups/drop-offs of donations throughout the drive?
Yes, even if your group is hosting for a specific length of time, you may schedule a pick-up half way through/whenever the barrel fills up even if your drive is not over.

What sizes of coats are needed?
All sizes from infant to adult XXXXL are needed, with an emphasis on larger adult coats.

Does SVDP accept used coats?
Yes, as long as it is in decent condition.

Do I need to have a SVDP collection barrel in order to collect coats?
No, you are welcome to use whatever vessel is most convenient for you/your group to collect donations.

How do I request barrels or other materials if I want to host a coat drive? Who do I notify when I’m ready to schedule a pick-up?
