Winter Coat Drive

Collecting Coats

Each year, as the temperatures drop and the first snowfall covers the area, St. Vincent de Paul joins with media and corporate partners—WLWT, WARM98.5, Gold Star Chili, Tom and Chee restaurants, Kemba Credit Union, Valetone and Your Cleaners—to ask the community for its support. Then need: new and gently used coats, as well as gloves, hats and scarves. And the people come through. Each year they donate thousands of items, which are turned around and offered to our neighbors in need during our winter coat distributions.

Distributions are typically done three times over the winter in different parts of town to accommodate transportation needs, as well as in a coat room in the Don and Phyllis Neyer Outreach Center in the West End that is open daily during the winter.

How you can help

Volunteers are needed to help sort coats starting now and leading up to our distribution events. You can also volunteer on the day of distributions to help local families receive their warm winter coats.
