Answering Christ’s call, we foster hope by providing spiritual, emotional and material assistance on a person-to-person basis to the poor, lonely and forgotten in our community.

In addition to services regularly provided, we offer additional special services and resources periodically throughout the year. Please continue to check the site for updates on the times and dates of our additional resources. See below for details and requirements.

Free classes

Money Matters: Education Class

Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at 1125 Bank St.

Topics include: Everyday budgeting, Building Savings, and Bank Accounts

Nutrition Classes

Health services

Vision Screenings and Eye Exams:

Every Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

  • Eligible patients receive an eye exam, prescription and letter to receive their glasses.
  • Walk-ins are available as time permits. (In general, the first ten walk-ins are accepted. Please arrive early for the best opportunity to be seen.) 
  • To request an appointment, call the Cincinnati Eye Institute at 513-569-3722. Ask to be seen at the CEI Foundation Vision Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul.

UC Health Clinic:

Every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

  • Free blood pressure checks, glucose checks, nutrition counseling, and other health services
  • Provided by faculty and students of the University of Cincinnati

Oral/Dental Screenings:

The 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month beginning at 8:30 a.m. 

  • Free screenings for gum disease, mouth cancer, and other dental issues 
    • Counseling on dental hygiene and referrals to affordable dental care
  • First 6 walk-ins accepted
  • Provided by faculty and students of the University of Cincinnati


Our bus token budget has been reduced, which means that our tickets will possibly be gone after the first week of the month. 

Ohio State ID’s can be obtained on any Monday or Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The limit is 2 per household.

Kroger Fresh Friends Program: Bring any child under 18 into Kroger to receive his or her Fresh Friends card. You can go to the produce department or ask any employee how to get a Kroger Kids Fresh Friends card.

  • This card entitles the child to receive one free item of either fruit or vegetables, per child, each month.
  • The item varies month to month. The child may use his or her Fresh Friends card to receive a free item per month throughout 2016.
  • All Krogers in Cincinnati are participating.
  • There is no limit on the number of children per family.

Fans and Air Conditioners


If you and your family are in need of relief from the summer heat, you may be eligible to receive a fan through one of St. Vincent de Paul's Fan Distributions this summer.

  • Households are eligible to receive one fan every other year (if you did not receive a fan in 2015)

  • The next Fan Distribution will take place Wednesday, July 20, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Liz Carter Outreach Center, 1125 Bank St., Cincinnati, OH 45214. 

  • The first 100 eligible families in line will receive a fan. Recipients must provide a photo ID. 

Air Conditioners 

  • Recipients of air conditioners must provide documentation of medical need and a photo ID. Individuals needing an air conditioner should contact St. Vincent de Paul at 513-562-8841, ext. 772. Appointments will be scheduled for approved clients to pick up an air conditioner. There is a limit of one air conditioner per family. Families are eligible to receive an air conditioner once every three years. 

  • Eligibility Requirements:
    • If you are under age 65, you must have a signed doctor's note confirming your need for an air conditioner due to a medical condition. Applicants aged 65 and older do not need a doctor's note.
    • Must not have received an air conditioner from St. Vincent de Paul in 2014 or 2015.
    • To request an air conditioner, please call 513-562-8841, ext. 772.

Reentry Program

Have you or a loved one been affected by the criminal justice system and now find it hard to move ahead in life?  St. Vincent de Paul's Reentry Program provides ongoing support to men and women who want to turn their lives around after being incarcerated.

Assistance Guidelines:

  • Funds are to be used for basic needs assistance.
  • Client is actively participating in the Help Program, Project WESTT, or is being referred by a St. Vincent de Paul Conference to a reentry program.
  • Client or members of the family are struggling with barriers following incarceration. 
  • The assistance provided by St. Vincent de Paul will support the successful completion of a reentry program.
