Free Classes

Nutrition Classes

To learn about how to get involved in nutritional classes on Saturdays at 1125 Bank St., call our pantry coordinator at 513-562-8841, ext. 858.

Health Services

Vision Screenings and Eye Exams:

Every Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to Noon unless otherwise noted.

  • Eligible patients receive an eye exam, prescription and letter to receive their glasses.
  • The eye clinic sees around 10 clients. To ensure a spot, please arrive by 8:00 a.m. or schedule an appointment by calling the number below.
  • To request an appointment, call the Cincinnati Eye Institute at 513-569-3722. Ask to be seen at the CEI Foundation Vision Clinic at St. Vincent de Paul.

UC Open School Clinic:

Every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

  • Free blood pressure checks, oral checks, foot checks, glucose monitoring, nutrition counseling, and other health services
  • Provided by faculty and students of the University of Cincinnati

Oral/Dental Screenings:

The 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month beginning from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

  • Free screenings for gum disease, mouth cancer, and other dental issues 
    • Counseling on dental hygiene and referrals to affordable dental care
  • First six walk-ins accepted
  • Provided by faculty and students of the University of Cincinnati

Charitable Pharmacy: 

Certification appointments are on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday by appointment. Call 562-8841, ext. 228, 230 or 223, to schedule an appointment.

OTHER:

Bus Tokens

Our bus token budget has been reduced, which means that our tickets will possibly be gone after the first week of the month. We now provide transportation support for new employment only. 

  • Must show proof of employment (paycheck or work schedule).

ID 

Ohio State ID vouchers can be obtained on any Monday or Thursday between 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. The limit is 2 per household.

Birth Certificate

Birth Certificates can be obtained on the First Thursday of the month from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Limit 2 per household per lifetime. 

Reentry Program

Have you or a loved one been affected by the criminal justice system and now find it hard to move ahead in life? St. Vincent de Paul's Reentry Program provides ongoing support to men and women who want to turn their lives around after being incarcerated.

Assistance Guidelines:

  • Funds are to be used for basic needs assistance.
  • Client is actively participating in the Help Program, Project WESTT, or is being referred by a St. Vincent de Paul Conference to a reentry program.
  • Client or members of the family are struggling with barriers following incarceration. 
  • The assistance provided by St. Vincent de Paul will support the successful completion of a reentry program.

Getting Ahead Program

Have you ever had to decide between buying groceries and paying your bills? Don't know where to start from or what you need? Getting Ahead can help you!

Getting Ahead is a 16-week long program that challenges and encourages participants in a group setting to take an active role in creating their own path to securing a stable and better life for themselves and their families. The next session begins on Sept. 11, 2018.

Benefits

  • Develop a 'Getting Ahead' action plan for the future.
  • A weekly stipend for the duration of the program.
  • Free lunch during sections.

PIPP PLUS

PIPP Plus is a year-round payment plan that offers households' affordable monthly payments that help maintain services. Each time a household makes their PIPP PLUS payment on time and in full, they will receive credits towards old utility debt and prevent new utility debt from occurring.

Applicants applying for PIPP PLUS must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, reside in Hamilton County and provide proof of citizenship. Non-heating accounts are eligible to apply for PIPP PLUS also.
