Unfortunately, this year’s Celebration of Service scheduled for May 14th is canceled.
St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is disappointed to not be able to honor Becky Catino and Bart Kohler at our event this year. They deserve to be celebrated properly; therefore, please save the date for May 13, 2021, when Becky and Bart will be honored at Celebration of Service for their integral roles in supporting SVDP and neighbors in need.
This annual event generates critical resources to support direct services through SVDP; however, you can still provide hope and relief for our neighbors in need from a distance.
Here is a brief message from Bart Kohler, one of this year’s intended honorees, about how you can still help in this time of crisis:
Thanks to the generosity of our Double from a Distance Day sponsors (listed below), all donations given online until midnight on Friday, April 17th, will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000 maximizing the impact YOU can make.
- $25 becomes $50, helping provide toilet paper for 86 families.
- $125 becomes $250, helping ensure 20 neighbors receive glucose testing supplies for one month.
- $700 becomes $1,400, helping feed 70 families for one week.
Your help is essential to ensure that SVDP can continue to shelter, feed, and heal neighbors in need both during and after the pandemic. When you give, your gift has DOUBLE the impact. Thank you for keeping your distance, while doubling your donation.
Becky Catino and Bart Kohler recently served as the co-chairs of St. Vincent de Paul’s (SVDP) Upward Spiral Comprehensive Campaign, helping raise $12 million to support our neighbors in need. This comprehensive campaign expanded access to programs and services through the construction of the new Don and Phyllis Neyer Outreach Center, allowing services to be offered concurrently Monday-Saturday.
Additionally, it increased neighbor-to-neighbor support through a Conference Assistance Fund helping struggling neighbors in SVDP’s 56 parish-based conferences. With additional resources, the conferences are able to assist more neighbors through rent and utility assistance, food, clothing, beds, and other basic necessities.
St. Vincent de Paul is grateful for Becky and Bart’s vision, servant leadership, and commitment to our neighbors in need.
