Volunteers Needed as Neyer Outreach Center Reopens
Dear friends,
On July 8, 2021, we will reopen the Don & Phyllis Neyer Outreach Center to our neighbors for walk-in services and volunteers will again be fully integrated into our operations. After 15 months of serving neighbors curbside and over the phone, we look forward to welcoming neighbors back.
Neighbors will again be able to walk the aisles of our Becky & Ted Catino Choice Food Pantry, hand selecting the items they know they need and their families enjoy. Neighbors and staff will again be able to sit down together in our chapel to pray. Children will again find and take home a book to read from our book nook. Vincentians and volunteers will again genuinely connect through laughs and hugs. With this reopening, we have many more opportunities to live out the relational component of our mission.
In order to make this all possible, we need help. Specifically, we are looking for volunteers to work in our Choice Food Pantry, staff Welcome Rooms, answer phone calls and more. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Alec Jewell, Volunteer Program Manager, at 513-562-8841 ext. 211. Brief descriptions of volunteer opportunities can be found here.
Our team has dedicated much effort to our reopening plan and has created new processes that support our goal to keep everyone healthy. To that end, masks are required inside the building for individuals who are not vaccinated.
Starting July 8, Neyer Outreach Center will be open Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM and Saturday, 8 AM – Noon.
Thanks to tremendous support from the community, we remained steadfast in our commitment to our neighbors throughout the challenges and uncertainty of the pandemic. While the worst of the pandemic may be behind us, many neighbors continue to face crises, uncertainty and hopelessness. Neighbors turn to St. Vincent de Paul in these moments. Together, we will continue to help neighbors find the hope and help they need for a brighter future.
God bless,
Mike Dunn
