Jim Meyer

Name: Jim Meyer

How long have you been a Vincentian? 2.5 years

Conference: St. Vivian

Your role in the Society: Conference president

How did you become a Vincentian? Invited by Bill Erman.

Most memorable home visit: It’s hard to choose, but a recent one stands out. We visited with a woman whose daughter was brutally murdered, and the emotional distress left her unable to work for months. She drained her retirement savings while on leave from her job. She was so far in debt by the time she was able to return to work that it took twinning with eight other conferences to get her caught up.

Biggest lesson you’ve learned as a Vincentian? God works in amazing ways, and He uses us to do that.

What has made you stick with the ministry? Helping our neighbors and being a Vincentian has helped me live my faith in the most fulfilling way so far in my 67 years.

Anything else that you’d like to add? Each home visit is special in unique ways. Each is a blessing to me as well as my neighbors.
