In
times of crisis, neighbors from all walks of life turn to St. Vincent de Paul
for emergency assistance in the form of comfort, consolation and material relief.
Last year, nearly 9,000 people from neighborhoods throughout Greater Cincinnati
sought help at our small office in the West End. There, people who are facing
emergencies receive help with rent, utilities, job training, food and clothing
- everything necessary to get them back on their feet and into programs that can
provide long-term solutions to ongoing problems. The Social Services Department
works closely with our network of more than 60 volunteer groups to ensure that
no one who comes to us with a problem is turned away without care.

been treated with respect, concern, dignity, and support, and a smile that lets
a person know that things will get better and I will be a part to make it better.
