What better way to share the joy of Christ's birth than by bringing a little holiday magic into the lives of a local family in need? The holiday season is often a time of joy, but for families struggling to make ends meet, it can be overwhelming and lonely. Through Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, Adopt-a-Family, the Angel Toy program, and Holiday Hearts Luncheon, you embodied Christ’s love and created grace-filled moments for neighbors in need. In 2013 you helped 6,634 people during the holiday season.
Here’s how you can spread Christmas joy this season:
Adopt-A-Family Holiday Program
You can make a family’s Christmas wishes come true by adopting a family in need.
You will be given a Christmas wish list from a Cincinnati family in need. All year, our volunteers and staff serve people who can barely afford the basic necessities. For these families, providing holiday gifts and a celebratory meal is simply impossible. You can make a family's Christmas wishes come true by adopting a family in need. You can select the size of the family you would like to help and even personally deliver the gifts if you would like.
The Christmas Angel Toy Program
Angels are the guardians of hope and wonder, and keepers of magic and dreams.
Selected families in need are invited to our Outreach Center in the West End on a Saturday in December. While the parents select gifts for their children, volunteers help the children make an arts and crafts gift for their parents and receive a bag of candy from Santa. Parents take the gifts home to give to their children on Christmas morning.
You can become a Christmas Angel by donating new toys or a monetary gift to purchase toys for children who would otherwise be forgotten during the holidays. For more information, please call 513-421-HOPE (4673).
